Kamala –
An unidentified foreign woman was found washed ashore near a school in Kamala on Monday (August 4th).
The Kamala Police told the Phuket Express that witnesses saw the woman enjoying the water in the same area where her body was later discovered. According to lifeguards, she had left some personal clothing items on the beach before entering the water.
A concerned beachgoer spotted a figure floating in the sea and immediately reported it to lifeguards. Upon arrival, responders found her body washed up by waves—too late to save her life.
Preliminary examinations showed no signs of physical trauma or struggle. Her body has since been transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a full autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.
Kamala Police investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to piece together the woman’s activities prior to the drowning. Authorities are also attempting to verify her identity in order to notify her family and coordinate with her country’s embassy and immigration services.
Her name wasn’t released to the media.
