  1. Pattaya police have apprehended a 28-year-old Cambodian man, identified as Mr. Chid Jan, for robbing a Russian tourist, Miss Daria Smirnova, also 28, in a swift operation just hours after the crime.

The suspect, riding a motorcycle, threatened the victim with a screwdriver and stole her bag containing approximately 5,000 baht in valuables.

2. Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a tourist being assaulted and injured at a parking lot outside an entertainment venue in Soi Siam Sam Tat Phettrakul.

Mr. Koh alleged to police that he was attacked by assailants who attempted to allegedly rob him of 300,000 baht and forcibly planted approximately 20 pieces of a narcotic substance, identified as ketamine vape pods, in his bag before fleeing.

3. A 35-year-old woman died in an accident early on August 1st, 2025, when her BMW crashed into the rear of an 18-wheel truck on Sukhumvit Road in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung district.

The truck driver, Mr. Sompharn Tita, 46, said he was parked on the roadside, resting before delivering a load of electrical appliances, when he felt a violent impact and heard a loud crash.

4. A would-be thief was apprehended early Thursday morning after attempting to snatch a tourist’s bracelet during a morning jog along Patong Beach, thanks to the swift action of local citizens and beach staff.

Social media reactions poured in after a video of the arrest was shared online, with many netizens praising the brave locals who stepped in.

5. Police investigators in Phuket have arrested a phone technician at a prominent electronics store in a famous department store in Wichit following allegations that he secretly copied and shared a customer’s private data during a routine phone upgrade.

The investigation began after a customer filed a complaint with Wichit Police Station on July 27, revealing that photos from their old iPhone had been misused after a data transfer process at the store.

6. In the early morning hours of August 1st, 2025, a dramatic chase ended with the arrest of a Nigerian national caught in possession of a large quantity of cocaine.

The presence of authorities, the driver suddenly accelerated in an apparent attempt to flee the scene. Officers quickly pursued the vehicle through the Kathu area and successfully intercepted it on Chao Fa Mine Road.

7. The 2nd Army Area Regional Command reported that the Cambodian side violated the ceasefire agreement, with disturbances and weapon attacks found in multiple areas. The Thai side therefore responded accordingly to the situation.

9. The Royal Thai Air Force has detected attempts to use drones to survey military installations and numerous government facilities in key areas of Thailand, which is considered a serious threat indicating potential espionage aimed at carrying out actions harmful to military infrastructure and possibly civilian infrastructure as well.
