Thailand and Cambodia Reach Seven-Point Agreement in Border Talks

Surin, Thailand – On July 29th, 2025, Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of Thailand’s 2nd Army Region, held a meeting with the Deputy Commander of Cambodia’s 4th Military Region at Chong Chom, Surin Province. The discussions resulted in a seven-point agreement aimed at reducing tensions along the border.

The key points include an immediate ceasefire, a prohibition on firing at civilians, halting troop reinforcements and movements, facilitating the return of injured and deceased individuals, and establishing a four-member joint coordination team to address ongoing issues. Both sides agreed to reconvene following the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting scheduled for August 4, 2025.

This agreement marks a major step toward de-escalation and lasting peace in the region.
