Phuket Province has officially launched its proactive drug suppression campaign under the slogan “NO Drugs NO Dealers,” marking a determined effort to address the ongoing narcotics crisis with sustained and coordinated action. The initiative was inaugurated on July 25, 2025, at the Phuket Provincial Hall, led by the Provincial Narcotics Control Center in collaboration with the Phuket Provincial Police.
Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat presided over the launch ceremony, joined by senior officials across security, administrative, and public health sectors. The campaign reflects the Thai government’s overarching policy—led by Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kitirat Phanphit—to “X-ray communities,” targeting drug dealers and users for arrest and rehabilitation through systemic procedures.
From October 2023 to July 2025, law enforcement in Phuket pursued 2,262 drug-related cases involving 2,379 suspects. These included 1,286 serious offenses and 976 cases against drug users.
Authorities seized large quantities of narcotics, including 253,876 methamphetamine tablets, nearly 29 kilograms of crystal meth, 1.49 kilograms of cocaine, 28,268 ecstasy pills, and 4 kilograms of ketamine. Investigations led to 19 additional network-related cases and the seizure of 456 assets worth over 42 million baht.
The province has also intensified community engagement through its “Sustainable Subdistrict Project,” spanning 22 villages and reaching 310 individuals undergoing drug rehabilitation.
During the most recent phase, conducted between July 22 and 25, officials executed 26 targeted raids, resulting in 43 arrests—24 linked to serious offenses and 19 to drug use. Confiscated substances included 1,873 meth pills, 43.64 grams of crystal meth, 3 grams of ketamine, and 5 ecstasy tablets. Property seizure measures accounted for seven items valued at approximately 123,000 baht.
