A tragic road accident in Rawai, claimed the life of a 31-year-old woman and left another injured after a six-wheeled truck collided with a motorbike on the Wiset Road.
The Chalong Police told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred near Soi Suksan 1, when a black motorbike carrying two women was struck by a truck attempting to overtake. The motorbike was traveling in the left lane, in accordance with traffic rules, when the truck approached from behind and made contact during the overtaking maneuver.
The pillion passenger, Ms. Nantanapat from Songkhla, was found unconscious in the middle of the road with severe injuries. Despite CPR efforts by emergency responders from Chalong Hospital, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was later transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

The motorbike’s driver, Ms. Rattanaporn from Phang Nga, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Chalong Hospital for further examination.
The truck driver, Mr. Aree, a resident of Thalang, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. CCTV footage reviewed by investigators confirmed the motorbike was traveling safely in the left lane when the truck attempted to pass, resulting in the fatal collision.
Police are continuing their investigation and have taken both the motorbike rider and truck driver for medical examination. Legal proceedings will follow based on the outcome of the investigation and witness statements.
