A serious road accident occurred yesterday on Muang Chao Fa Road in Wichit, when a pickup truck driver lost control in heavy rain and collided with a motorcycle.
Police from Wichit Station received reports of the crash from bystanders and swiftly dispatched traffic officers to the scene. Emergency rescue teams from the Wichit Municipality followed to assist the injured.
Upon arrival, authorities found the black pickup truck severely damaged and lodged against a road sign. Nearby, the motorcycle lay wrecked off the roadside. The motorbike rider, believed to be the injured party, was treated on-site before being transported to Dibuk Hospital for further care.
Initial investigations suggest that the pickup truck driver may have spun out of control on the wet surface and struck the motorcycle, causing both vehicles to veer off the road. Officials noted that a sudden downpour had left the road slick and possibly flooded in places.
