Second Suspicious Device Found at Patong Beach, Area Declared Safe

Phuket –

Authorities uncovered a second suspicious device at Patong Beach on Thursday afternoon, following an intensive search operation prompted by a suspect’s confession.

Around 4:00 PM on Friday (June 27th), officials located the item buried beneath a tree, approximately 50 meters from the first discovery site. The device was safely recovered and neutralized, bringing closure to a tense two-day investigation.

The initial device was found the day before, on June 26, near the tree line roughly 400 meters from the Bangla police booth in the direction of Loma Park. According to investigators, a suspect had disclosed the existence of two locations along the beach where suspicious objects had been buried.

Police confirmed that the second device was similarly concealed in sand, hidden beneath foliage near the edge of the beach. Bomb disposal teams were dispatched and successfully secured the scene.

With both devices accounted for and rendered safe, law enforcement has officially declared the Patong Beach area clear and secure. Officials continue to investigate the incident, assuring the public that security measures remain heightened to prevent future threats.
