Japanese Tourist Drowns at Karon Beach

Phuket –

A Japanese tourist has drowned while swimming at Karon Beach.

The Karon Police told the Phuket Express that the victim, identified only as 34-year-old Mr. Hikaru, had arrived in Phuket one day before, June 27th, with his wife and was staying at a hotel in the Karon area.

The couple was scheduled to check out on June 29th. On the morning of the incident, they went swimming at Karon Beach, where Mr. Hikaru was later found unresponsive in the water.

Emergency services transported him to Patong Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His wife informed police that she believed her husband had drowned and did not request an autopsy.

Karon Police have classified the case as a non-suspicious death and are proceeding with legal documentation in line with standard procedures.
