Phuket Airport Implements New Terminal Access Routes as Heightened Security Measures Begin

Phuket International Airport (HKT) has announced revised access routes to both international and domestic terminals, aligning with new stringent security protocols. The changes, which came into effect at 6:00 AM on Thursday (June 26th), are part of an island-wide initiative to improve safety and reassure the traveling public amid recent disturbances.

International Terminal Access Adjustments

  • Level 1:
    • Entrances and exits will be permitted through Doors 2, 5, and 8.
    • Doors 1 and 7 will serve exit-only purposes.
  • Level 2:
    • Only the northern walkway connecting to the multi-level car park will remain open for entry and exit.
  • Level 3:
  • Only Door 2 will be available for both entering and exiting.

Domestic Terminal Access Adjustments

  • Level 1:
    • Passengers may enter or exit via the southern side doors and the northern transport hub entrance.
    • Door 1 will be designated for exit only.
  • Level 2:
  • Doors 2 and 3 will remain accessible for both entry and exit.

Phuket Airport authorities have asked for understanding regarding potential inconvenience and strongly encourage travelers to arrive at the airport 2–3 hours prior to departure. Strict compliance with these new measures is essential for everyone’s safety.
