Phuket—
Authorities in Thalang District arrested four suspects and seized 24,000 methamphetamine pills, two pickup trucks, and multiple mobile phones in a major anti-drug operation on June 22, 2025.
Officers told the Phuket Express that the operation was carried out under the directive of Phuket Governor Mr. Sophon Suwanrat, alongside senior provincial officials and Thalang District Chief Mr. Siwatch Rawangkul. The enforcement team, led by Mr. Wisut Romin, Head of Administrative Operations, in cooperation with Narcotics Control Board officers and volunteer defense personnel, executed the arrest behind Wat Tha Chat Chai in Mai Khao subdistrict.

The four suspects—identified only by the aliases Mr. A, Mr. B, Mr. C, and Mr. D—were caught red-handed transporting a large quantity of methamphetamine, commonly known as “yaba.” The drugs had reportedly been smuggled from Thung Song District in Nakhon Si Thammarat province and were intended for delivery to an undercover informant in Phuket.

The suspects face charges of possession of a Category 1 narcotic with intent to distribute, as well as illegal consumption of methamphetamine. All individuals, along with the confiscated evidence, were handed over to Thachatchai Police Station for legal proceedings.
