Two Suspects Arrested in Major Drug Raid in Phuket

Phuket— Authorities in Phuket apprehended two male suspects during a targeted drug raid in Si Sunthon Road, seizing over a thousand methamphetamine pills and live ammunition in a sweeping operation aimed at dismantling local drug networks.

Acting on a court-issued search warrant following citizen reports of ongoing narcotics activity in the area, a special operations unit led by Phuket’s provincial security office conducted the raid on a rented residence in Village 4 over the past weekend.

During the search, officers discovered and confiscated:

  • 1,073 methamphetamine tablets (Yaba)
  • 1.72 grams of crystal methamphetamine (Ice)
  • Six rounds of ammunition (five 9mm, one .38 caliber)
  • Cash totaling THB 1,340
  • Numerous small bags believed to be used for drug distribution

The suspects face multiple charges, including possession and distribution of Category 1 narcotics, illegal drug use, and—specifically for the residence owner—unauthorized possession of ammunition and contributing to the spread of narcotics within the community. The individuals and all seized items were transferred to Mueang Phuket Police Station for legal proceedings.
