Saudi Arabian Arrested in Patong with Alprazolam

Phuket –

The Patong Police arrested a 30-year-old Saudi Arabian man, following the discovery of a controlled substance in his possession.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the arrest took place in front of a massage shop establishment on Bangla Road.

The suspect, identified as Mr. Mohammed, was found in possession of four tablets of alprazolam—classified under Thailand’s Category 2 narcotics. Authorities allege that the substance was intended for personal use, a violation under Thailand’s Narcotic Act.

Alprazolam, commonly used to treat anxiety and panic disorders, is strictly regulated in Thailand and requires a prescription. Possession without proper documentation can lead to criminal charges, including imprisonment and deportation for foreign nationals.
