Dutch Man Arrested on Fraud Charges in Phuket

Phuket– The Phuket Tourist Police have arrested a Dutch national wanted on fraud charges following an ongoing nationwide crackdown on crime.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that the operation was part of a larger directive issued by the Royal Thai Police, aiming to apprehend individuals with outstanding warrants, particularly those involved in firearm-related offenses and fraud cases. The intensified enforcement campaign is set to run from June 14 to June 20, 2025.

On June 17, 2025, investigators, acting on intelligence received from informants, identified a foreign individual matching the description of a wanted suspect residing in the Pa Khlok area of Thalang. A team led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Pithaya Thepmuang, along with investigators from the Tourist Police Division 3, moved in to verify the individual’s identity.

Upon confirming the suspect’s identity as a 65-year-old Dutch national known as “Mr. B” (alias), authorities executed the arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court on July 9, 2024. The suspect was wanted for charges related to fraud. Following his arrest, the individual was transported to Phuket Provincial Court for legal proceedings.
