Russian Woman Arrested for Illegal Medical Practice in Phuket

Phuket—

Police arrested a 33-year-old Russian national for allegedly practicing medicine without a license, following a sting operation conducted by the Phuket Tourist Police.

The Tourist Police Division 3 told the Phuket Express that the suspect, identified as Miss Viktoriia Freimark, was allegedly caught offering injectable treatments to clients without proper medical authorization. Officers seized 47 items, including pharmaceutical drugs, syringes, and medical equipment.

According to Tourist Police Division 3, the investigation began after Lieutenant Pithaya Thepmuang received complaints about a foreign woman advertising medical services online. She allegedly promoted injectable treatments for various ailments, including hangover relief, through social media platforms.

Undercover officers contacted the suspect via WhatsApp, arranging an appointment for the procedure. On June 12, two agents met Freimark at a rental apartment in downtown Phuket at approximately 9:00 PM. After negotiating a treatment fee of 6,000 baht, the suspect prepared medical supplies to administer an injection.

The officers then revealed their identities and placed Freimark under arrest. During questioning, she admitted to offering the service at the request of a fellow Russian acquaintance, Marina, who facilitated client interactions via an online page.

Freimark confirmed that she is not a licensed doctor and lacks authorization to practice medicine or distribute pharmaceutical drugs in Thailand. She also confessed to performing similar procedures two or three times prior to her arrest.

Police have charged her with multiple offenses, including practicing medicine without a license, selling pharmaceutical drugs without approval, and working in Thailand without legal authorization. She was taken into custody alongside the confiscated medical supplies and referred to prosecutors for legal proceedings.
