Patong –
Two Ukrainian men have been arrested following an incident at a shopping mall in Patong, where they allegedly assaulted a security guard who prevented them from urinating in a rental shop inside the mall.
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred on June 7th, 2025, at approximately 6:18 AM. According to reports, the security guard approached the two men and asked them to refrain from urinating in the shop area. Instead of complying, they allegedly turned violent, attacking the guard and causing injuries that required hospital treatment at Patong Hospital. Following the altercation, the victim reported the attack to the local police.
In response, Tourist Police tracked down the suspects. Using CCTV footage, authorities identified two foreign men riding a motorcycle to a market in Patong.
Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been rented by two Ukrainian nationals: Mr. Andriy and Mr. Illia.
Police checked immigration records and confirmed that both individuals had not left the country. The suspects’ images were presented to the victim, who confirmed their identities as the attackers.
Authorities detained them and transported them to Patong Police Station, where they were formally charged with “jointly committing physical assault causing bodily and mental harm to another person.” Legal proceedings are now underway.
