Bangkok Pride Parade 2025 Draws Over 200,000 People, Prime Minister Attends

Bangkok-

On June 1st, 2025, Bangkok hosted its annual Pride Parade, a celebration of LGBTQ+ pride, along Rama I Road.

The event, themed “Born This Way,” marked a historic milestone with Thailand’s Marriage Equality Act, effective January 23, 2025, making Thailand the first Southeast Asian nation to legalize same-sex marriage. Over 200,000 participants and spectators joined the procession, which started at 2:00 PM from the National Stadium, passing landmarks like Siam Paragon and concluding at Ratchaprasong Intersection.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra attended the parade, joined by allies and community members waving rainbow flags. The Bangkok Pride Festival, running from May 30 to June 1, included forums, awards, and drag events, reinforcing Thailand’s bid to host WorldPride 2030. The parade highlighted inclusivity and celebrated the nation’s progress in LGBTQ+ rights.
