Migrant Worker Camps in Thalang Find Illegal Drug Users

Thalang –

Officers in Thalang conducted an inspection of migrant worker camps in Pa Khlok where they found six illegal drug users, according to their statements.

Officers told the Phuket Express that four camps housing approximately 130 workers were inspected. Authorities conducted random health screenings and document checks, confirming that all workers possessed valid permits and passports.

However, urine tests administered to 40 individuals revealed six cases of illegal drug use. Officials recorded their details, notified employers, and initiated further investigations to trace drug suppliers.

Beyond legal compliance, officers stressed the importance of hygiene and safety in the camps. Camp operators were reminded to adhere to standardized regulations, with local leaders tasked with ongoing monitoring.

This inspection is part of a broader effort to uphold labor laws and community safety, ensuring that workers live in regulated environments while addressing concerns over illicit substances in the area.
