Major Drug Bust in Phuket Seize Over a Kilogram of Crystal Meth

The Phuket Provincial Police have successfully arrested multiple drug traffickers, seizing a large quantity of illegal substances, including over a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.

The Phuket Provincial Police told the Phuket Express that authorities apprehended three major suspects in separate incidents this week:

  • Songwut (48) and Sarayuth, (42), were caught in possession of over 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine (ice), six methamphetamine pills, three digital weighing scales, and two mobile phones. Police also confiscated additional assets, including two Honda motorcycles valued at approximately 150,000 THB.
  • Prayun, 35 was arrested for possession of 0.20 grams of crystal meth and was also found to be a wanted suspect under an existing arrest warrant from the Phuket Provincial Court.
  • Somruthai, 27 and Chatamethi, 27, were apprehended with one methamphetamine pill and two drug paraphernalia items.

All suspects face serious charges of illegal possession, distribution, and consumption of Category 1 narcotics, with the primary offenders facing additional allegations of large-scale drug trafficking and asset forfeiture.
