Phuket Airport Conducts Major Fire Drill

The Phuket International Airport conducted its third live fire drill of the year, reinforcing emergency response capabilities and ensuring personnel readiness in accordance with civil aviation safety standards.

The exercise on Wednesday (May 28th) was led by Mr. Chana Wongthanavirun, Director of Fire and Rescue Operations at Phuket Airport and was jeld at Grid Map B12, near Runway 27. The training aimed to equip firefighting teams with hands-on experience, preparing them to effectively manage real-life emergency situations.

According to aviation safety protocols, airports are required to conduct routine fire drills utilizing real flames. Phuket Airport integrates these exercises into its quarterly safety agenda, ensuring continuous enhancement of emergency response skills among its personnel.

The drill was attended by airport medical service officers and local disaster prevention officials from the Mai Khao Subdistrict Administrative Organization, fostering inter-agency coordination for emergency situations.

As air travel continues to increase, Phuket Airport remains committed to upholding strict safety measures, reinforcing its ability to protect passengers and airport personnel in the event of a fire-related emergency.
