Transgender Woman Arrested For Stealing from Turkish Man in Patong

Police have arrested a transgenger woman in connection with a late-night theft targeting a tourist along the bustling streets of Patong.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that a 38-year-old male Turkish national filed a complaint at around 4:00 A.M. on Tuesday (May 27th), reporting that his wallet had been pickpocketed by a transgender individual near Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Road. The stolen amount totaled 4,000 baht.

Following the report, investigators swiftly launched an operation and tracked down the suspect, a 42-year-old Thai transgender woman. Upon conducting a search, officers recovered the stolen cash concealed inside the left cup of the suspect’s bra.

The suspect was charged with nighttime theft, a crime carrying significant penalties under Thai law. Authorities have since transferred the case to the investigation unit for further legal proceedings.
