Sri Lankan Arrested at Phuket Airport Using Fake Passport

Authorities at the Phuket International Airport have arrested a 24-year-old Sri Lankan man for allegedly using a fraudulent passport.

The Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that the arrest took place on May 18th, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m. in the international arrivals hall of the airport. The suspect was taken to the Sakoo Police Station to face charges of possessing and using a falsified passport. The suspect did not release any statement as of the press time.

Immigration officials continue to reinforce security measures at the airport to prevent illegal entry and enhance national security. Further investigations are underway to determine the origins and intent behind the suspect’s forged travel documents.
