UPDATE: Ukrainian Woman Arrested at Phuket Airport for Condo Damages Following Rental Dispute

Phuket –

Authorities in Phuket have apprehended a 20-year-old Ukrainian woman, Mrs. Anastasiia, at Phuket International Airport following her involvement in a property destruction incident at a condominium. The suspect allegedly vandalized various household items after a dispute over receiving a refund of her security deposit, which the landlord has stood by the decision saying proper policy was not followed and that the woman was not the tenant on the legal contract.

Our previous story:

A Phuket condo owner was left in disbelief after discovering extensive damage to their rental unit, allegedly caused by a Ukrainian tenant. The aftermath revealed a severely vandalized space, leaving behind destruction estimated at 350,000 baht in damages.

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that they coordinated with local officials to prevent her departure from the country and initiate legal proceedings. Their efforts concluded on the morning of May 10, when Phuket airport immigration officers successfully detained her at the departure checkpoint. Officers took custody of Mrs. Anastasiia for further legal actions.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to the vandalism, stating that her frustration over the unreturned deposit led to her outburst. Officials are now proceeding with legal charges related to property damage and other relevant offenses.
