Young Australian Man Rescued After Near-Drowning at Racha Island

Chalong –

A male Australian tourist was rescued from drowning near the Racha Yai Island in Chalong.

Emergency responders told the Phuket Express that they sprang into action earlier this week, after receiving a distress call about a near drowning incident near Racha Yai Island. The owner of a boat alerted the Phuket Tourist Assistance Center.

Upon arrival at the scene, they found the victim—a 22-year-old Australian tourist—unconscious in the water. Rescuers administered emergency CPR onboard the vessel, successfully reviving his pulse before rushing him to shore. He was then transported by ambulance to a hospital for urgent medical treatment.
