Two Vietnamese Nationals Arrested for Illegal Cannabis Sales in Patong

Patong –

Patong Police arrested two Vietnamese nationals for illegally selling cannabis in Phuket. The operation was carried out on the evening of May 4, 2025.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they conducted a sting operation that resulted in the suspects being apprehended with four bags of cannabis flowers, weighing approximately 1.7 kilograms.

Police also seized a box of business cards labeled King of Weed Cannabis, allegedly used for advertising their cannabis sales. The suspects were charged with “unauthorized sale of cannabis (flower buds)” under Thai law.

The arrest took place in front of a shop near the Patong Fire Station on Ratpatanusorn Road. Both individuals have been handed over to Patong Police investigators for further legal proceedings.

Cannabis is decriminalized in Thailand, notes The Phuket Express, however, requires a proper license to sell.
