Heavy Rainfall Causes Temporary Flooding in Kamala

Kamala –

Early morning rainfall on May 6, 2025, led to temporary flooding on road surfaces in Kamala. According to the Phuket Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the affected areas included Ban Bang Wan and Ban Nuea. The water levels, which initially caused disruption, subsided by 8:10 AM, allowing the situation to return to normal.

Local authorities confirmed that flooding in these areas is a recurring issue due to drainage delays. Officials from the Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Organization have been monitoring the situation and coordinating with disaster prevention units. However, no emergency reports were filed by residents regarding the incident.

In response, the Phuket Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office has directed local emergency command centers and municipal disaster response teams to remain vigilant. Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions and are prepared to assist affected residents if necessary. Continuous updates will be provided to ensure timely response efforts.

As Phuket enters the rainy season, local officials stressed the importance of preparedness and swift response to mitigate potential disruptions. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official announcements and report any severe weather-related issues to local emergency services.
