Relevant Authorities Inspect Migrant Worker Camps in Thalang, Some Methamphetamine Found

Thalang –

Thalang District officials have launched a comprehensive inspection of foreign worker camps to ensure legal compliance, public health standards, and drug prevention measures.

The team examined two worker camps in Si Sunthon with approximately 150 migrant laborers. Random checks of migrant workers’ passports and work permits confirmed that all individuals possessed valid documentation, with no illegal workers detected.

Six Myanmar nationals tested positive for methamphetamine. Authorities documented the findings, informed their employer, and initiated further investigations to trace potential drug suppliers.

During searches of individuals and accommodations, officials confiscated 27 methamphetamine pills and 2.29 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Three suspects, including one Thai national and two Myanmar nationals, were taken into custody and handed over to Thalang Police for prosecution.

Six motorcycles were impounded for verification to determine if they had been reported missing or stolen, with further inquiries underway at Thalang Police Station.
