Phuket –
A late-night fire in the early morning of Tuesday (April 29th) broke out at a well-known nightclub in Phuket Town, sending plumes of smoke into the sky and prompting emergency responders to take swift action. Reports indicate that two loud explosion-like sounds were heard moments before the flames engulfed the establishment.
The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that the incident was first reported at approximately 3:40 A.M. when they received an emergency call regarding the blaze at a nightclub in Talad Nuea. Upon arrival, officers met with Sompong, the bar’s caretaker, who stated how he first noticed smoke billowing near the stage around 2:50 A.M. Shortly after, sparks emerged from the venue’s mezzanine, where the bar’s main electrical panel was located.
Firefighters arrived promptly and managed to bring the flames under control within an hour. No injuries were reported. However, authorities are still assessing the extent of the damage.
A tenant of the establishment revealed that they were not present at the time of the fire, but neighbors saw smoke and heard two explosion-like noises before alerting emergency services. Investigators have begun examining the scene, with forensic specialists expected to determine the exact cause of the fire in the coming days. The nightclub was praised for successfully evacuating all staff and customers with no injuries.
