Illegal Gambling Networks Seized Worth Over 215 Million Baht in Phuket

Phuket –

The Thai cyber police have intensified their crackdown on a sprawling online gambling network, uncovering massive financial operations that handled over 2.4 billion baht annually. The investigation, which spanned multiple provinces including Phuket, led to the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of assets valued at more than 215 million baht.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau told TPN media that the online platform had been facilitating multiple forms of illegal gambling, including lottery games, slot machines, football betting, and casino games, amassing a player base of over 400,000 users.

Authorities first launched enforcement actions in December 2024, conducting raids across four locations in Chiang Rai, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals linked to the marketing operations. Following further forensic analysis of confiscated devices, police obtained warrants for additional suspects, leading to renewed operations on April 23rd, 2025. A coordinated search targeted two key locations—one in Ratsada, Phuket, and another in Ban Du, Chiang Rai.

In Phuket, police recovered an array of valuable items, including cash totaling 5.7 million baht, luxury watches, gold bars, amulets, bank account records, and high-end electronic devices. Additional properties, including 10 rai of land, three vehicles, and two safes, were placed under investigation, potentially adding another 100 million baht to the overall asset freeze.

With the latest developments, authorities reaffirm their commitment to dismantling the gambling network, tracing financial trails, and pursuing individuals still at large. Investigations continue to identify additional assets obtained through illegal activities, ensuring all involved are held accountable under Thai law.
