Alleged Russian Prostitute Arrested in Phuket

The Phuket Tourist Police have arrested a Russian woman for allegedly engaging in prostitution in violation of Thai law at a hotel in Phuket Town.

The Phuket Tourist Police told the Phuket Express that the arrest took place this week. The 28 year-old Russian woman was detained at a hotel in Phuket Town. The woman was charged under the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act for soliciting and engaging in prostitution in a manner considered public and disruptive. Her name was not released.

Authorities stressed that such activities negatively impact Thailand’s tourism image and will continue to be strictly monitored and prosecuted.

This operation is part of a broader effort to ensure safety and uphold the integrity of Phuket as a premier tourist destination. The Tourist Police reaffirmed their commitment to enforcing legal measures and maintaining public order and stated prostitution is illegal and will be strictly enforced per Thai law.
