Phuket –
The luxurious Nautica cruise ship, registered under the Marshall Islands flag, made its scheduled stop at Phuket’s deep-sea port early this morning, bringing over 1,000 passengers and crew members to the island. Authorities from the Third Naval Area Command, along with officials from various agencies, carried out an integrated inspection to ensure security and safety compliance.
The Phuket Port Security Control Center worked with the International Communicable Disease Control Office, Phuket Customs, and Immigration officials to facilitate the screening process. The teams conducted safety assessments, checking onboard security systems, essential safety equipment, and compliance with port regulations. Additionally, cargo and passenger screenings were carried out to uphold strict maritime safety standards.
The Nautica arrived in Phuket from Langkawi in Malaysia, with a total of 1,008 individuals on board—396 crew members and 612 tourists, including one Thai national and 1,007 foreign travelers. The vessel is scheduled to depart on April 24th at 4:00 P.M., continuing its journey to Sri Lanka.
Authorities stressed the importance of safety coordination and public awareness regarding large cruise vessels docking in Phuket. The inspection aims to reinforce Phuket’s reputation as a safe and well-regulated international maritime destination while ensuring smooth operations for tourism and trade.
