Baggage Conveyor System Malfunction at Phuket Airport

Phuket-

Phuket International Airport (HKT) has issued a statement addressing a technical issue that disrupted outbound baggage handling at its International Terminal on April 23rd. Officials confirmed that two of the four conveyor control units experienced malfunctions, prompting urgent remedial action.

Airport authorities swiftly engaged technical specialists from their contracted service provider to assess and repair the faulty systems. In the meantime, staff were deployed to manually transfer luggage from the affected conveyors to those still in operation, ensuring passengers’ belongings underwent routine In-Line Screening without unnecessary delays.

To further minimize disruptions, the airport is working closely with airlines to streamline the baggage handling process and prevent flight delays. Additionally, public relations officers are stationed throughout the terminal to assist passengers and provide real-time updates.

Phuket International Airport apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the technical difficulties and assures passengers that every effort is being made to restore full functionality as quickly as possible.
