A French tourist was fined after videos circulated on social media showing him violating traffic laws and engaging in dangerous motorbike riding.
Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that the incident earlier this week involved Mr. Ali, a 23-year-old French national, who was spotted riding a motorbike through a red light, failing to wear a helmet, and demonstrating reckless behavior that caused concern among other road users. His actions prompted an immediate response from immigration and law enforcement officials.
The Phuket Immigration Office launched an investigation to track down the tourist and hold him accountable for his actions. After identifying and locating him, officials handed him over to Patong Police Station to face legal consequences.
Mr. Ali was then fined for running a red light and failing to wear a helmet, two clear violations of Thai traffic laws. After paying the fine, he expressed remorse and apologized for his behavior, assuring authorities that he would not repeat his actions.
