Patong –
An Australian man was arrested with a gun and bullets near Bangla Road.
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Monday (April 21st) they arrested a 21 year-old male Australian at the entrance of the Bangla Road.
Seized from him were a pistol and bullets. He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and carrying them in public without permission.
The Phuket Express noted the Patong Police did not give any detail about how he was apprehended at first and the suspect did not immediately state how or why he had a firearm which is illegal for foreign nationals in Thailand. The suspect’s name was withheld pending further interviews and investigation with the suspect.
