Thalang-

Authorities successfully apprehended a drug suspect following an undercover operation, resulting in the seizure of over 7,000 methamphetamine tablets and nearly 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

The special operations team from Thalang District Administration told the Phuket Express that on Friday (April 18th) they arrested a Thai suspect identified only as James, 30, who was allegedly distributing illegal drugs to youth in the Yamu community and nearby villages in Pa Khlok.

To confirm the suspect’s involvement, officers arranged a sting operation, where an undercover agent contacted James to purchase 100 methamphetamine pills for 2,400 baht. The transaction was scheduled in Yamu. As James arrived at the location, authorities moved in, arresting him and seizing 101 methamphetamine tablets and the marked cash used for the operation.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed that he had hidden additional quantities of methamphetamine and crystal meth in a rubber plantation near Yamu Village. Authorities proceeded to search the area, discovering 6,932 methamphetamine pills and 182.97 grams of crystal meth. In total, officers confiscated 7,033 methamphetamine tablets and nearly 183 grams of crystal meth.
