Phuket’s Tourism Booms in The First Quarter of 2025

Phuket continues to shine with tourism numbers showing impressive growth in the first quarter of 2025.

Miss Siriwan Siharach, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket Office told the Phuket Express that the island has seen a big increase in both visitor arrivals and revenue compared to the previous year.

Between January and March 2025, Phuket welcomed a total of 3.8 million tourists, reflecting a strong upward trend. Domestic tourism played a notable role, with over 1.01 million Thai visitors, marking a 10% increase from 2024. Meanwhile, international arrivals totaled 2.8 million, a 5.77% increase year-over-year.

Tourism-related income also surged, with total earnings reaching 149 billion THB, representing an 8% increase from the previous year. Of this amount, Thai tourists contributed 11 billion THB, while international visitors accounted for 138 billion THB, further showing the global appeal of Phuket as a travel hotspot.

The island continues to attract travelers from all corners of the world. The top five nationalities visiting Phuket this quarter were Russia, China, India, the United Kingdom, and Germany, highlighting a diverse range of visitors.
