Phuket Police Increase Security at Gold Shops Amid Rising Prices

Phuket –

In response to soaring gold prices and the heightened risk of criminal activity, Wichit Police have intensified security measures for gold shops in Phuket. Police have been deployed on foot patrols, fully armed, to ensure safety and deter potential incidents.

This week police patrolled throughout the Wichit area, closely monitoring gold retailers as part of a proactive approach to crime prevention. Recognizing the persistent threat posed by criminals, many of whom may be armed, Wichit Police are prioritizing high-risk areas, including gold shops, banks, and other vulnerable locations. Officers are also conducting nighttime patrols in isolated areas where crimes are more likely to occur.

Additionally, efforts are underway to equip officers with enhanced protective gear, including bulletproof vests and helmet-mounted cameras, further reinforcing their ability to safeguard businesses and the public.

These security measures ensure Wichit Police’s commitment to preventing crime and maintaining public safety, ensuring both shop owners and residents can go about their daily lives with greater peace of mind.
