Phuket Excels in Songkran Road Safety Campaign with Zero Deaths

Phuket has summed up a total of 45 road accidents and 45 injuries with zero deaths in the seven days of the ‘Songkran Road Safety Campaign 2025′ (April 11th to April 17th).

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express on Friday (April 18th) that of those 45 injuries, 27 of them were male and 18 were female. Thirty-one were Thais, 8 Myanmar, Tunisian, Russian, Dutch, German, Saudi Arabian and Australian).

Most accidents were caused by excessive speeding and followed by drunk driving. Most road accidents involved motorcycles.

Most accidents occurred on the peak Songkran day April 15th (The third day) which was the highest number since the start of the campaign.
