Phuket Secured Zero Deaths in Six Days of the ‘Songkran Seven Days of Road Safety Campaign’

Phuket has announced a total of 38 road accidents and 39 injuries with zero deaths in six days (April 11th, 2025 to April 16th, 2025) of the seven days of the ‘Songkran Road Safety Campaign 2025′ (April 11th to April 17th).

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express on Thursday (April 17th) that of those 39 injuries, 21 of them were male and 18 were female. Twenty five were Thais and 14 were foreigners (Myanmar, Tunisian, Russian, Dutch, German, Saudi Arabian and Australian).

Most accidents were caused by excessive speeding and followed by drunk driving. Most road accidents involved motorcycles.

Most accidents occurred on the peak Songkran day April 15th (The third day) which were the highest number since the start of the campaign.
