Phuket –

A French man and a Thai woman were arrested for allegedly producing illegal drugs in Kamala.

The Region 8 Police told the Phuket Express that they have made a breakthrough in their ongoing crackdown on drug-related crimes, successfully dismantling a major narcotics network operating in the province. The operation led to the arrest of multiple suspects, including foreign nationals and a Thai citizen, with a substantial amount of illegal substances and drug-manufacturing equipment seized.

The investigation began with the apprehension the Jordanian suspect, a suspect linked to drug distribution in Phuket. Following extensive inquiries, authorities discovered his connections to two other individuals— a 43-year-old male French national, and, a 34-year-old female Thai citizen. These individuals were identified as key figures in a drug trafficking ring.

Further intelligence revealed that both suspects were residing at a condominium in Kamala. In total, law enforcement officers confiscated 34 key pieces of evidence, including:

  • Ketamine: Five packets totaling 15.16 grams
  • Ecstasy: Two pills
  • Chemical equipment: 13 items used in drug production
  • Unauthorized pharmaceuticals: 22 bottles of manufactured drugs without official licensing

Investigators also learned that the Thai suspect owned a medical establishment on Phra Baramee Road in Patong, further intensifying concerns over the potential illegal use of pharmaceuticals in her operations.

Both suspects were taken into custody and are facing serious charges related to drug possession, distribution, and manufacturing. Authorities continue their investigations to determine the full extent of the network’s operations.
