Phuket Reports Zero Deaths on First Day of ‘Songkran Seven Days Road Safety Campaign’

Phuket has announced a total of six road accidents and six injuries on the first day of the seven days (April 11th, 2025 to April 17th, 2025) of the ‘Songkran Road Safety Campaign 2025′.

The Phuket Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Office told the Phuket Express on Saturday (April 12th) the details on the first day (April 11th) of the campaign.

All six road accidents were in the Mueang District with six injuries. Five injuries were Thais and one injury was a Tunisian national.

Most accidents were caused by excessive speeding (33%) and followed by drunk driving (16%). All six road accidents involved motorcycles. Most road accidents occurred on highway roads from noon to 3:00 P.M..
