British Man Arrested in Phuket after Fleeing from Violent Crime in Bangkok

Phuket –

The Royal Thai immigration Office has apprehended a British man who had fled to Phuket after allegedly assaulting a South Korean national in Bangkok.

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that the suspect, identified only as Mr. James, 26, was wanted for an incident in Bangkok where he was reportedly involved in a violent altercation with a South Korean man. The victim sustained severe injuries and had to undergo prolonged treatment in an intensive care unit. Following the incident, Thai courts issued an arrest warrant for James, citing the charge of “Assaulting another causing grievous bodily harm.”

Phuket immigration officers tracked down and detained Mr. James, who confessed to the crime and admitted fleeing in fear of prosecution.

He remains in custody as of press time.
