Phuket Airport Expecting Over 50,000 Passengers Daily During Songkran

The Phuket International Airport is preparing for an influx of travelers during the Songkran holiday period, with passenger numbers expected to exceed 52,000 per day between April 10th to April 19th, 2025. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) predicts that the festival will generate over 8 billion baht in tourism revenue.

According to Mr. Montchai Tahanod, the Director of Phuket International Airport, the holiday season will see a rise in travel to Phuket and the Andaman region. An estimated 523,306 passengers will pass through the airport over the 10-day period, including 322,768 international travelers and 200,538 domestic passengers.

To meet this surge, the airport will handle approximately 3,225 flights, averaging 323 flights per day, with 1,726 international flights and 1,499 domestic flights scheduled.

Furthermore, Phuket Airport will offer free parking at its headquarters from April 11th to April 16th, welcoming travelers with cultural performances and souvenir giveaways under the “Splashing Happiness Across Thailand” campaign.
