Newborn Dumped on Pickup Truck Bed in Cherng Talay

A discovery made early on the morning of April 9, 2025, has prompted a police investigation after a newborn baby boy was found abandoned in the bed of a parked pickup truck in Cherng Talay, Thalang.

According to police reports, a local resident was preparing to drive to work when they noticed an infant wrapped in a pink towel lying in the back of their pickup truck which was parked near Soi Bang Tao 12. The baby, with its umbilical cord still attached, was alive at the time of discovery.

Rescue workers from Cherng Talay’s emergency response unit transported the infant to the Thalang Hospital before he was transferred to the Vachira Phuket Hospital for further medical care.

The Cherng Talay Police has confirmed that officers are working to identify those responsible for abandoning the child.

Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their search for answers.
