Russian Man Arrested in Phuket for 332 Days of Overstay

Phuket –

A 30 year-old Russian man was arrested for almost a year long overstay in Phuket.

As part of an ongoing crime crackdown from April 7–11, 2025, focusing on illegal immigration and foreign nationals violating Thai law, authorities have apprehended a male suspect in central Phuket.

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that they successfully arrested Mr. Sergey at a luxury hotel in downtown Phuket. The suspect admitted to overstaying his visa for over a year and had been frequently changing accommodations to evade law enforcement.

Mr. Sergey has been formally charged with violating Thailand’s immigration laws, specifically for remaining in the country after his permitted stay had expired—a total overstay of 332 days. Authorities have transferred him to Phuket City Police Station for legal proceedings.
