Russian Arrested at Phuket Airport for Labor Law Violation Charges

Phuket authorities have apprehended a Russian national at Phuket International Airport under an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court. The arrest was conducted on April 9th, 2025, at approximately 3:30 P.M.

The Phuket Immigration Office told the Phuket Express that the suspect, a 29-year-old Russian male, was detained in the international arrivals hall of the airport. The warrant cites violations of Thai labor laws, specifically “Jointly failing to pay wages and failing to comply with an order issued by a labor inspector.”

Following his arrest, the suspect was transferred to the Cherng Talay Police Station for further legal proceedings. Authorities have not yet disclosed additional details regarding the case or the circumstances surrounding the alleged offenses.
