Foreign Driver Reportedly Assaults Thai Driver in Phuket Road Rage Incident – VIDEO

Phuket –

A male foreign driver allegedly assaulted a Thai driver during a road rage incident on a busy road in Phuket.

A video clip of the incident was shared on the Newshawk Phuket Facebook page local news page. The incident shows that a male foreigner was talking with a Thai man before he smacked him in his face.

Mr. Saroj, the Thai involved in the incident, told the Phuket Express that over the past weekend, he was driving a minivan on the Chalerm Phrakiet Rama 9 Road (Bypass Road) in Rassada. A pickup truck driver then allegedly cut in front of him before he honked a horn. After that both vehicles stopped on the roadside to discuss the incident.

He said he was talking nicely to the foreign driver and he warned him to be more careful and drive safely. However, the foreign man reportedly assaulted him in the face causing him to fall. Mr. Saroj noted that the foreign man was much larger and stronger than him and he would never have tried to start a physical altercation due to the man’s size, blaming the aggressive actions entirely on the foreigner.

The Thai driver has filed a formal report with the dash cam evidence to the Phuket City Police but the foreign driver has not been identified as of press time.
