Karon –

A 72-year-old French national, identified only as Mr. Celou, was rescued on April 4th after spending over eight hours stranded in a deep ravine in Karon.

The Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred in the Patak Soi 12 area when Mr. Celou reportedly fell into the ravine at approximately 10:36 A.M. Unable to climb out due to the steep and rugged terrain, he called his partner for help using his phone.

Rescuers faced considerable challenges due to the depth and steep incline of the ravine. The team employed rope systems to navigate the treacherous environment and reach the stranded tourist. After more than four hours of intense effort, they successfully brought Mr. Celou to safety.

By 7:00 P.M., the rescue was complete, and Mr. Celou was transported to a hospital for a medical evaluation. His injuries were reported to be minor, and he is expected to recover fully.
