Phuket— In the early hours of Tuesday (April 1st), tragedy struck when a rider who was believed to be Russian lost his life in a high-speed motorcycle accident on the Chalermprakiat Rama IX (Bypass Road) in Rassada.

The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that at approximately 12:45 A.M., the Phuket City Police received reports of a horrific accident. Upon arriving at the scene, officials found a motorcycle severely damaged, with its components scattered across the road. The wreckage stretched over 200 meters, spanning four streetlight poles.

Shockingly, the rider—a male foreign national—was discovered deceased on the road’s central divider. The victim had been severely injured during the accident and died immediately. Police also found the victim’s phone at the scene, its screen displaying Russian text.

Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcycle rider had been traveling at an excessively high speed before losing control, skidding across the road, and colliding with a roadside streetlight, ultimately leading to the devastating loss of life.

Authorities have since coordinated with forensic specialists from Vachira Phuket Hospital to examine the body. The remains were later transferred to a local charitable foundation to be delivered back to the hospital for a detailed autopsy. Law enforcement officials are working to notify the Russian Embassy to facilitate contact with the deceased’s family for funeral arrangements.
