36 Tourists and Crew Members Escape from Boat Fire in Phuket – VIDEO

The Royal Thai Navy, Third Naval Area Command (RTN3) told the Phuket Express that a frightening incident unfolded on Tuesday morning (April 1st) when a speedboat caught fire near the Maithon Island, south of Phuket. The blaze ignited at approximately 9:10 A.M., while the vessel was carrying 36 people, including both crew members and tourists.

Everyone was wearing life jackets onboard and managed to jump off the boat before the fire consumed the vessel. Minor injuries were reported among the passengers.

Upon receiving reports of the fire, the Marine Tourism Assistance Center, immediately coordinated with related agencies. These included the Third Naval Area Command (RTN3) and other emergency response teams. Rescue boats were promptly dispatched to the scene to provide assistance.

Fortunately, all passengers and crew members were safely brought to shore. Those affected are now under the care of local authorities. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing as of press time.
