Russian Man Arrested in Wichit For Illegally Selling Cannabis Products and Vapes

A 24-year-old Russian man was arrested after he was illegally trading cannabis products and electronic cigarettes. The arrest took place at the suspect’s residence in on the Chao Fa Road in Wichit.

The raid uncovered over a kilogram of dried cannabis flowers, various branded cannabis extracts such as hash, and more than 200 vaping devices and accessories. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be nearly one million baht. The suspect, identified onlyas Mr. Artem, was taken into custody along with the evidence and handed over to the Wichit Police Station for further investigation.

Authorities charged the individual with multiple offenses, including unauthorized possession and sale of controlled herbs under Thailand’s 1999 Protection and Promotion of Traditional Thai Medicine Wisdom Act, possession of a Category 5 narcotic without permission, and selling restricted items, such as electronic cigarettes, which are prohibited under Thai customs law. Additionally, he was found to be working in Thailand without a proper work permit.
